Effective November 1, 2015, I will begin a new chapter in my professional life as a member of the private sector.
I have been truly blessed to serve the Federal Government for over twenty-four years in myriad progressive technology and leadership responsibility roles spanning four Administrations and three cabinet-level agencies, culminating as the Energy Department’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
As a thought leader and innovation advocator for the technology transfer and commercialization of intellectual property, the opportunity to collaborate with and across our national laboratory, government, industry and academic eco-systems to facilitate mission alignment with technology investments is an amazing and rewarding experience.
My fervor for the research and development community resulted in the creation of an advocacy and technology exchange forum to streamline information sharing across public and private sectors. And building on this success, I led the development and creation of the Department’s enterprise Technology Roadmap, which promotes a formal, sustainable innovation program and brings innovative solutions into the Department’s cyber portfolio.
A self-proclaimed “Connective Tissue Officer,” my passion for connecting dots, building bridges, and fostering relationships will continue. I am committed to help others understand and balance existing and new priorities while conveying technology’s “value to the mission”!
